These are where the favorites of our moderators go. We’ll often choose art that struck a real cord with us and post them here to give them a sort of special limelight.
On top of that, when concerning Character Callout — every three prompts, the mods will come together to pick out three pictures (one for each moderator) and those pieces will get spots in the Featured folder as well. On top of that, they will also get a special, front page post crowning them as the Character Callout Champions!
Oh, but it’s not just us. You also get to decide what gets featured! Another way for you to decide is through general clamoring. If enough people sound out loud enough about a certain piece of art getting featured, it’s only right to see what all the fuss is about and follow along accordingly.

Character Callout! is a character focused, weekly art activity thing where, every Monday, a new art prompt is posted and you, the artist, can play along and draw a picture based on the given prompt. You have a week from when the prompt is made and a deadline that ends every Sunday at 11:59 pm Central Time.

The Spotlight is exactly the activity’s main prompt: the big prompt that’s posted every week.
The Sideshow is an alternate, simpler prompt that you have the choice of doing with the Main Prompt or on it’s own. Sideshow pictures are also featured in the Weekly Showcase. Sideshows, however, are not always featured in every Callout.
If you make a picture for Character Callout, please be sure to indicate it somehow, like simply stating it in the description box, somewhere on the picture. Just make sure we know it’s for CC! And, of course, submit your art to the appropriate folders!
These folders take one submission per week per member.
Characters reign supreme here. The life and blood of story, it’s only natural they would have their own folders so people can more easily explore and search for some great ones. With this folder, you post artwork that is completely dedicated to a singular character. Not a group of them. If you want to do that, the Breathtaking Artwork folder would be for you.
These characters have to be completely original to you and they have to have, well, character. That means the following will not be allowed:
- Fan Characters
- Adopts
- Fan Art of Someone’s Original Character
The stipulations are:
- The original character has to have a little more than just a picture. They need to have some sort of information, a story, statistical details - something to make us believe that character is more than just a one off thing for a one off picture. We don’t just want good art, we want great characters.
- If you post concept designs, it can’t just be a singular sketch of a character you thought up during lunch. There has to be some kind of professionalism in how it is put together.
Males and Females are divided into two separate sections to allow for easier browsing.
These folders take two submissions per month per member.
If you have some general artwork to showoff, this is the place where you would post it! The only requirement for this is that the art either feature a character of sorts or is connected to a story of yours.
